INSIDE SECURE based in Aix-en-Provence, France, is the holder of numerous NFC (Near Field Communication) technology patents. The French company is a pioneer of this technology which it started developing more than 15 years ago.

In September 2014, Apple announced that its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus would have built-in NFC chips to allow for mobile payment, a service called Apple Pay. This decision by a world leading player like Apple has triggered worldwide interest in NFC technology. It is believed that the Apple phones payment solution may well contain technology covered by INSIDE SECURE patents.

In 2013 France Brevets filed patent infringement lawsuits against LG Electronics, a South Korean multinational smartphone manufacturer, for wrongfully using a couple of INSIDE SECURE patents. France Brevets was created to ensure that the inventions of French companies were protected.

In August 2014 it was announced that LG had, in fact, agreed to sign a worldwide royalty-bearing NFC patent license agreement with France Brevets which will cover the INSIDE SECURE NFC patents.

With this agreement, INSIDE SECURE has now the assurance that its NFC patents are recognized worldwide. It can now focus on its strategy to provide hardware and software embedded security solutions to mobile and connected devices: to enable safe NFC payment, to protect entertainment content delivery and data communication; to provide safeguards against counterfeiting of high value objects etc. Some of these INSIDE SECURE solutions are already being used by world class players like LG, Samsung and Sony. The company went public with an IPO in February 2012 and is quoted on the Euronext Paris Stock Exchange.
