Industrials : Air Liquide
With the acquisition of US-based Airgas for $13.4bn, France’s AIR LIQUIDE has regained its ranking as the world’s biggest industrial gas group well ahead of Germany’s Linke. The deal confirmed in May 2016, also makes AIR LIQUIDE the biggest company in the US industrial gas market which is the largest and fastest growing among advanced economies. Industrial gases include oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and many others. They are essential in a wide range of industries and services including petrochemicals, oil and gas, steelmaking, welding, electronics, aerospace, health care etc.

With the takeover of Airgas, AIR LIQUIDE , present in 80 countries, will have revenue of more than €20bn which puts it easily ahead of its rivals. The Chairman and CEO of the French Company, Benoït Potier, expects growth in annual revenue of 6-8% thanks to a 2016-2020 Programme called NEOS. The strategy will be centered on a development model based on energy, environmental transition, healthcare and digital transformation. AIR LIQUIDE is listed on the Euronext Paris Stock Exchange.
