LUCIBEL based in the Paris region designs produces and sells disruptive LED (Light-Emitting Diode) technology lighting solutions. This technology is taking the professional lighting market (hospitals, offices, schools, businesses, restaurants and public authorities) into a digital and electronic revolution.

LED is a small electronic chip which emits light when an electric current goes through it. Frédéric Granotier, founder and CEO of LUCIBEL believes that by 2020, LED will represent nearly 70 % of the lighting market worldwide. He also says that compared to traditional lighting, the technology will divide energy consumption by 10, multiply operating life by 20. With the LED lighting lasting for some 50 000 hours, traditional bulbs which have a much shorter life span will gradually disappear.

LUCIBEL’s LED technology will extend beyond lighting to data transmission applications. In a supermarket, a client will be able to receive from LED lighting signals, information interactively, about products on the shelves. This is called the Light Fidelity (LiFi) solution. It will create an innovating experience not only in retailing but also in museums, art galleries or anywhere where these light signals can be received.

LUCIBEL has recently relocated part of its production from China to Normandy in France in order to be quick to provide customized solutions at the top end of the European market.

Present in 40 countries, LUCIBEL has worked on prestigious projects such as the Burj Khalifa Tower in Dubai. It has R&D centers in Paris, Lyon as well as Shenzhen. Twenty two patents have already been filed and 20 more are in the pipeline.

LUCIBEL’s recent listing on Alternext, a subsidiary of Euronext Paris, will reinforce its presence as a ‘cleantech’ company. Thanks to sustained organic and external growth it aims to become a world leader in LED technology.
